With us, you'll shape a career that is truly forward-facing with many amazing opportunities and offerings to match.Job DescriptionLocation: ZagrebAs a Solar Project Engineer, you will play a key role in developing and optimising the design and delivery of our ground mounted solar PV and hybrid solar projects. You will join the Croatian solar team within our International Project Delivery Department. Your main focus will be our projects in Croatia, and you will work closely with the local solar project development team. You will also support projects internationally as part of a wider international team of solar, wind and storage engineers. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Engineering support to planning applications, construction tenders and project execution
  • Technical evaluation of sites via site visits and investigations
  • Writing and reviewing technical specifications
  • Production and quality assurance of engineering design drawings and calculations
  • Energy yield estimation and uncertainty analysis
  • Drafting of PV plant layouts
  • Review of schematics and preliminary bills of quantities
  • Liaising with suppliers, contractors, consultants, authorities and other stakeholders
  • Undertaking design health & safety risk assessments
  • Evaluation of different components, technologies and configurations based on technical and financial parameters
  • Creation and updating of design guidelines for the standardization of the design approach
  • Participation in the continuous development of our expert group forums, operational processes and internally funded R&D programme.
Working in the Solar Project Delivery Department:Statkraft's Project Delivery Unit is responsible for the design and construction of our solar, wind, hydro and storage plants across all geographies. Within this department, our regional solar and storage engineering teams are responsible for solar PV and storage plant system design, energy yield analysis, due diligence and quality assurance across procurement, engineering and construction stages.As an engineer within this department, you will connect, collaborate and innovate with colleagues across technologies, geographies and markets, working with industry-leading digital solutions. Whether you use your engineering skills to optimise our projects, increase output from our assets, or design tomorrow's renewable energy solutions, in this role you'll be at the forefront of leading the global shift to renewable energy.QualificationsPlease apply with a CV in EnglishWe are looking for people who are passionate about leading the global shift to renewable energy with the relevant technical skills, collaboration and innovation mindsets and ambitions to develop professionally. Your profile should include:
  • Degree level qualification in electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, industrial, energy engineering, physics or other relevant technical discipline;
  • Experience designing ground mounted, utility scale solar PV plants - battery storage and hybrid system experience is an advantage.
  • Experience of AutoCAD and PVSyst
  • Fluency in Croatian and English.
  • Experience of solar project procurement, construction, commissioning or operation.
  • Experience and knowledge of relevant Croatian design codes, regulations and policy.
  • Experience with Croatian Grid connection process and request, relationship with DSO/TSO will be considered a plus
