Offer DescriptionPursuant to the Decision of the Senate of the University of Rijeka, the University of Rijeka announces a CALL for the selection of one (1) teacher for a full-time scientific-teaching position of Associate Professor (M/F) in the field of Social Sciences, area of Political Science, for an indefinite period. Amendments and Additions to the Ordinance on the Internal Organization and Systematization of Job Positions of the Professional Services of the Rectorate of the University of Rijeka (CLASS: 030-01/23-01/03, REGULATION NUMBER: 2170-137-01-23-2, dated September 4, 2023), the duties of teachers in a research-teaching position of an associate professor are:
  • organizes and conducts all forms of teaching at the university undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate levels within the assigned course(s),
  • conducts students' knowledge assessment and testing,
  • performs tasks that are considered an integral part of the teaching load: field teaching, consultations, mentoring, review and evaluation of seminar papers, final, graduate, and other student papers,
  • writes textbooks, teaching, and other educational materials and materials for student assessment (knowledge, skills, and competencies) and assessment of other participants of educational programs,
  • prepares drafts of course content and detailed implementation lesson plans for the assigned course(s),
  • carries out scientific and professional activity and publishes the results of scientific and professional research in books, magazines, and anthologies, and presents them at scientific and professional meetings,
  • participates in project implementation,
  • participates in the work of committees,
  • participates in the work of councils and other bodies,
  • remains dedicated to continuous educational, scientific, and professional improvement,
  • performs other tasks determined by the law, the Statute, and general acts, as well as the study program and curriculum.
Specific RequirementsApplicants must meet the requirements prescribed by the Higher Education and Scientific Activity Act (OG 119/22) and enclose the following documents with the application:- CV,
- citizenship certificate or proof of citizenship from another country,
- a copy of a document proving the qualification obtained, i.e. the academic title of Doctor of Science,
- a copy of a Decision on selection into the corresponding scientific title (if the selection procedure was carried out),
- an overview of scientific, teaching, or professional activities and scientific works and/or separate papers relevant to the title,
- proof of Croatian language proficiency (for applicants who are foreign citizens), and
